Geological story
Rocks both inform the long story of the earth and inform modern society about hazards that could occur. Australian rocks have provided a reference standard for parts of the geological timescale, and others have provided insights into the nature of magmatism that generates the granitic rocks that we see in the landscape.
Rocks to show: Time reference rocks, rocks illustrating tsunami or earthquake hazards, rocks indicating geological boundaries.
